ScaleUp is not only present at the OpenStack Summit Berlin, but this time in the middle of it. It starts with the keynotes of our customer Oerlikon on the topic of Smart Facturing, for which ScaleUp built an OpenStack-based edge cloud in a large textile factory in Vietnam:

"Creating the textile factory of the future running on OpenStack".
Speaker: Georg Stausberg (CEO Manmade Fibers Segment), Jörg Groß (Architect & Senior Expert Software Solutions)
Time: Tuesday, 11/13/2018 9:15-9:25 a.m.
Location: Level 1, Hall A4-6

Lecture/Video view

We will also be presenting at the Summit our new Multi-region cloud project de:stack at booth C22 and are looking forward to your reactions and feedback on Germany's first open, multi-region cloud.

Also on Tuesday Christoph will give an exciting lecture on the topic of Edge computing hold

"Enabling a Secure Industry 4.0 transition for the Textile Industry with OpenStack based Edge Clouds".
Speaker: Christoph Streit (CEO ScaleUp Technologies)
Time: Tuesday, 13.11.2018 13:40-13:50
Location: Level 2, Marketplace Demo Theater

Lecture/Video view

In this user story, we present how we built a secure and private OpenStack-based edge cloud platform for the textile industry. We explain our architectural choices to support highly complex manufacturing processes involving many legacy systems that were never intended to be deployed in a cloud environment. Distributed, independent factories also require further automation and deeper process integration measures (keyword Big Data).

The Superuser Award ceremony, for which ScaleUp also nominated will then take place on Wednesday, 14.11.2018 from 10:40 a.m. in the main hall (Level 1, Hall A4-6). Voting for the Superuser Award is already over. Now it's time to keep your fingers crossed.

We would be pleased to meet you personally at our booth C22. meet. Ask us your questions about OpenStack, Edge, Kubernetes or our new de:stack multi-region cloud. The complete agenda for the OpenStack Summit Berlin can be found at here.

Where is Open Compute headed? Impressions from OCP Summit 2022

This year, the annual global Open Compute Project Summit took place in San José (CA) from October 18-20. We were there ourselves and want to share some of our impressions here.

Special features of OpenCompute Servers - How OCP hardware differs from classic hardware.

After our introduction to OpenCompute hardware, in this post of our OCP series we want to go into a bit more detail about the design of OpenCompute hardware, specifically the server design and how it differs from classic hardware.

Open Compute Hardware Makes Data Centers Fit for Green IT

Open Compute Hardware (OpenSource Hardware) has enormous potential to sustainably improve resource efficiency in data centers. What is the Open Compute Project (OCP)?

Autoscaling in Kubernetes

One of the great promises of using Kubernetes is the ability to scale infrastructure dynamically, based on user requirements. However, by default, Kubernetes does not automatically add or remove instances. To do this, the Kubernetes...
